Tip for removing manufacturers stickers?

I want to get rid of the WRX sticker, but keep the paint.
Do they peel off without a problem, or should I poor boiling water over it - or can anyone suggest something else before I kill the paint?
Thanks

Took the WRX of the back of my STi using the hairdryer and a new blade from a stanley knife to get it started, no problems. Uesd Zymol HD Cleanse to remove the outline that was left behind without a trace. Job Done.

A friend (bodyshop painter) did mine and he poured a kettle of boiling water over the WRX sticker and it just peeled off - no residue, no damage to the paintwork

Guys,
Would the hairdryer work on a normal badge....
When I picked the car up the garage had put on a small badge saying who they are etc just next to the boot lock. It looks terrible, but it seems to be stuck on quite hard (similar I suppose to the subaru letters). Any tips for this?
Cheers,
Jamie

The dealer badges are just as easy to take off as the Subaru badges. If the badge is vinyl, just use your fingernail on a warm day to get it started, then peel it off extremely slowly.
For the annoying plastic or metal badges held on with foam sticky tape, use a small screwdriver to pry the badge from the tape, leaving the tape attached to the car. Then, on a warm day, peel the tape off very slowly.
If residue is left behind, use WD-40 (do you guys have that on your side of the pond?) and a worn cotton tshirt to lightly wipe off the residue. The WD-40 eats the residue but leaves the paint and wax behind.
I used WD-40 to debadge my entire Impreza without a problem. No hairdryer required, but it would make the job easier.

Hi there,
After having a night out in Edinburgh and leaving my car in Edinburgh's Royal Commonwealth Pool for the evening , I returned to find some large Orange Stickers pasted solidly to the windows of my Scoob.
We thought about how to get them off for ages and everything we did would not work... but, on around the 10th time we tried some hot water - let the sticker soak up some water first and then let it dry. Then add some hot water again and they just came right off. Could help?

bkar,
Yep, well pleased thanks - yellow seats aren't as bad as they looked on the net - it's a slightly orange colour, rather than bright yellow (as you already know). I can't wait for the 1000 mile service - it is very frustrating keeping below 4000rpm.
I posted a 'we have delivery' message as soon as it was delivered - I didn't receive one 'welcome' message Have I upset everyone?
