Default WR1 top grill loose

Hi

The top grill is loose on my WR1. Each side of the grill has 2 black plastic lugs at the bottom. However I then have 2 metal clips on the offside at the bottom, but no clips on the nearside. How many clips should there be?

On my top grill there are four plastic clips at the top and four metal brackets that the grill slots into at the bottom.

That's all i can see.

Thanks guys

I think I had 4 lower metal clips, I found one beneath the rad, the 2 clips must have fallen off. In fact one of the remaining clips is pretty loose.

Here's the grill:

& here's Scooby guarding one of the clips:

Just another quick question. How do I get the STi badge off? It's lop-sided! I think my grill was fitted one Friday afternoon!

How much of a twitch?

I've not noticed anything on mine.

No, it's not twitching, it rattles from around 2500-3000rpm. It's a little annoying. Push down on the gearstick & the rattle stops.

could it be due to the dccd? as this is next to the gearbox and in the wr1 i drove was whining, this could create a vibration affecting the gearknob...or it could be a loose gearknob!look and see if the pin is fully in on the gearknob

Hmm thanks, I'll check this out tomorrow. I'll adjust the DCCD & see if it affects the rattle, also I'll check the gearknob, although last time I looked at it I couldn't see a pin or grub screw anywhere.

Hello Nick

I've the same problem with the grill on my WR1. The dealer has ordered a new one for me under warranty.

It's interesting that you get a rattle as well from the gearstick area. My dealer is just about to be asked to investigate mine. The rattling starts at the same revs as yours.
