Default classic fog lamp covers

Just got hold of a set of fog lamp covers (sti 4 style) for my classic impreza.
Anyone know how to secure them to the fog lamps so that they can be taken off when needed?? they didn't come with any fitting kit.

Thanks,
Mike.

Talking There is a tool provided.

When I purchased mine from subaru they came with a plastic tool that helped to remove them without breaking them. I have had 2 sets fitted to my car and have broken both sets in one year (stone chips) so no longer use them. i will have a look and see if I can find the tool and will pm you if I do for your address to forward it on.

Depends. If they are OE ones then you need some brackets to secure them with a screw.

If they are copies then they they have some lugs that stick out top and bottom that clip into the holes that are in the bumper. You have to make a hole for the bottom clip mind you. I assume in this latter instance thet the V4 copies are similar to the V5 copies.

I think Rickydiver means fog lamp protectors & you are talking about blanking plates / covers ?

I bought some STI4 copies from ebay thinking I'd got a bargain only to find out you couldn't buy the proper brackets anywhere. Most places will only sell them as a complete kit which is around £200.

You could remove the fogs and use short pieces of nylon tube as spacers then use a long bolt to pick up on the fog lamp holes.

I spoke to another SN member who was able to get me the proper brackets shipped from Subaru in Japan, they were about £40 quid. At the time I was pondering on getting a few sets made up, but never got round to it.

If you do want some proper brackets try sending mok a pm, I think he may be able to help.
