Impreza RB5 - any good?
Basically my brother might be buying one very soon and i'm lookin for info on em. The one he's looking at is on 240bhp with prodrive mods which doesn't seem too impressive really! Also they're Uk cars which normally means they're dim.
Are they good cars? Easy to mod? What kinda power can be reached for a sensible amount?
Any info would be appreciated!
Cheers
Tom

if your brother is going to modify the car I dont see much point in buying a WR version. Might as well get either a standard RB5 (only really worth it if he really loves the colour) or a standard UK Turbo and spend the money saved (probably several £k) on mods.
Not knocking the RB5 as I loved mine but it is an expensive base for a modded car.

Cheers for the replies and sites to visit!
Yeah he wants an RB5 mostly because it looks good as standard and its his fav colour for them. He isn't interested in exterior mods so it seems a good base to start from. Also as someone has said, as its a uk car insurance is super cheap!
What kinda mods get the power up simply and quickly?
Whats needed for say 280bhp bearing in mind he's lookin at one with the PPP so its on 240bhp to start with?

Fully decated exhaust, airfilter and TEK3 remap.
I have had all of the above done and have been very happy with the car. Waiting to get the car on a rolling road.
plus there were only 444 made, so it is nice to have a limited edition car.
