Have I just seen a fake P1 ?
Near St Albans today, saw what I thought was a STI type r V6 on a 51 plate. It had rear tints like tha jap model and a rear wiper and didnt quite look like the P1 blue, but it had a p1 badge on the back though.
had normal sti fog covers on the front not the small spots. It didnt have the p1 wheels either.
Does the p1 have a rear wash wipe ?. is it a special colour blue ?
if this is a type R, why would someone try to make it look like a P1, surely its downgrading a car :-). Maybe cheaper insurance.

p1 has rear was wipe and sonic blue paint I think.

LOL. You cant get cheaper insurance by putting a P1 badge on.
P1s come in sonic blue only. This colour is also available on sti too.
A keen scooby spotter would spot the difference between the two cars
.....they have different front and rear spoilers etc.

Also, the P1 normally has driving light surrounds OR light covers, for when the lights aren't in use. It's easy to get hold of STi covers if a previous owner has lost the originals.

yes that is something else p1's have p1 embossed in the spolier this didnt, and i think the front splitter was missing too.
would a p1 be on a 51 plate ?

Mine also has rear tints, maybe it was me u saw?

there was someone driving it so i couldnt tell what the seats where like. I overtook him and was just glancing whilst taking mental notes.
It probably was a P1 it just looked odd with the rears tinted and gold aftermarket wheels (non prodrive as well). I hadnt noticed the rear -wipe on other p1's this probably just stuck out because of the tints.
