Default Opinion on dealer stock MY00 please

Cheam motors has had a nice looking PPP MY00 for a good few weeks now:

http://www.subaru.r66internet.co.uk/...p?ID=500371774

It's overpriced I know but as anyone on here been to see it or know the history? I've only driven past as it isn't open on a sunday and it looks nice enough.

It looks like a good spec, nice wheels, low mileage, just what I'm looking for.

Any thoughts (on stuff other than price) gratefully received

Ta.

Low mileage, un-abused Classics are a rare find.

My old MY02, 52 plate WRX is up on the Scooby dealers site at £14295.

Much better value considering it's such a well cared for car.

My Dec 2001 classic was bought in feb 2002 with 80 miles on it for just over 17000. So that is way over priced IMO

If you are looking to buy from a dealer then try phoning Ian Armstrong at Stan Palmers here in Carlisle

01228 525051

Not your average scooby dealer.... very helpfull and help out a number of local scoby owners. I was mooching around there a few days ago......I parked the car down the road.... to look at their WR1 demo....

They had a number of classics in I seem to remember including a very shiny DBM UK turbo..

Default My MY99 is going to a dealer for a song (in my opinion)

I'm PX'ing for a Mazda 6 and the dealer's effectively giving me £7000 for my impreza (no aircon and 64000 miless but definitely not abused in anyway). So the model you 're interested in does seem expensive.

Saw this car last week whilst I was waiting for my car to be returned. Looked nice, think there were a few stone chips (as expecetd) but the price was laughable. Swiss Tony's looks far better.

Get onto John at Cheam Motors - tell him to get his prices in order! Nice car but over priced. Cheam are one of the better dealers and John is always up for a good deal.

Thanks for the replies guys.

As I said, the price is obviously too high but I was offered an OK trade in at Cheam not too long ago so that was also a plus point. Also "Low mileage, un-abused Classics are a rare find" would explain the optimistic price (they're waiting for a mug like me!)

The one pointed out by Danny B looks nice but I thought the 3rd party mods would have ruled out the warranty...?

chris scooby - I like a bug eye but think I'd always be looking to mod it, maybe even retro fit PPP so that's more money... I did test a nice one before but it wasn't really doing it for me especially when they're parked up ext to STi's. Was yours silver or blue?

Midlife - Carlisle is do-able but not the half mile Cheam is!

SwissTony - Looks tasty, I'll keep you in mind, Bucks isn't too far. (But I am a sucker for dealer, at least you've got a little piece of mind/protection in the sale). Would you mind PM'ing me the spec of your goodies ?

Rasher/Misty - can't see a MY00 on there...?

ChrisL, thanks for the contact, it was Brian who I spoke to last time but thinking about it that was a while ago....

Thanks everyone else for your input, I'll probably try and get down to see it tomorrow or monday see what they say. I'll let you know!!

The old one was silver, i've dug out a pic.

The new one's blue, and for no reason here's a picture of that!

Good luck with whatever u go for. Just try not to rush, there's plenty of cars out there.

Thx. It'll be the silver one then!
There was only two on that price, wasn't sure if it was Sussex or Perth (Perth being a bit far really!!)

HankScorpio,

I own the following car:

************************************************** ****
Dark Blue Mica Subaru Impreza UK MY00 + PPP registered in May 2000
1 owner from new (me!)
35,000 miles with FSSH and Subaru warranty until May 2005 (can be extended again for a few hundred quid)
Standard spec plus:

- Air con
- PPP
- Prodrive quickshift (the standard shift is sh*te)
- 17" Anthracite OZ P1 alloys with brand new P-zeros
- RAC Tracker Protector
- Clarion Front-loading CD/radio

The car has only ever been run on Super Unleaded and then on Optimax since the PPP !
It has not been used on any track days.
I also own it outright (no outstanding credit).
The car has always been treated well - warmed up and left to idle, etc.
************************************************** ****

My advice is:

1) Try to buy privately with the extended standard Subaru warranty
2) MUST have AIR CON
3) DO NOT buy green classics because they are harder to sell than the silver and DBM cars
4) Try to get one with a Tracker
5) The quickshift upgrade is essential if the car has a PPP

If I was selling my car, I would be looking for £10-11K so the price of that car is ridiculous...!

Mark.
