Question WR1 1000 mile service.Pool of Oil in Garage??

I have just had my WR1 in last Thursday for its 1000 mile service.
Decided to take it for a spin today and when I reversed out of the garage noticed a pool of clean oil which has obviously come from the engine.
Now I'm not the most gifted person with an engine so am going to call the dealer and get them to sort it tomorrow but was wondering if anyone might have any idea whats happened?
thanks in advance for any replies
Ian

well the 2 obvious places are oil filter or sump plug. i expect one of them needs a tweak. usually the sump plug from experience.

to be honest i would call the garage tomorrow and get them to pick it up themselves as you do not want to drive it with oil leaking from ?

Get the dealer to pick up your car in the morning.
It will need to be towed in this state.

Same thing happened to me a few years back. The garage hadn't fitted the oil filter properly.

Or - playing the wild card....it could be gearbox oil or brake fluid, they all look the same, get it on your fingers and have a sniff

Either way your going to have to go back to the dealers to get it sorted.

It would to be a very limp wristed mechanic to not tighten a filter or sump plug properly!

Just incase anyone is interested I had to ring Subaru Assistance who organised someone to look at my WR1 last night. He advised that it would have to go back to dealers.Same fella returned this morning with a flatbed truck and took my beauty away..
Subaru Assistance organised a car for me (Vauxhall Meriva 1.6 Bag of Shi*e)
while it was at dealers.Got a phonecall couple hours later to say problem solved and it was just a prob with the oil filter.

So we are back on the road

cheers for your coments guys

I assume you won't be using this dealer again. If they can't change an oil filter properly, I would have no confidence they could do anything more complicated properly either.

the oil filter on the subaru is a bit of a pain. a subaru tech bulletin advised not to tighten to much else it will leak. this then leads to problems with it no being tight enough!
