I figure anyone who can afford an '04 and then an upgrade can probably afford to trade in the wheels too...

Does anyone know if the Euro STI is getting the new hubs too? It'd make finding new wheels a lot easier

JDM '05 cars are available right now in Japan, but I've not seen any Euro/UK '05 cars yet. So, if yours is a UK car then it probably won't be the updated model unless you make it clear to the dealer that's what you want, and I guess you may have to wait a couple more months. Sorry

Liking it all except for the 16" WRX alloys but as you say it'll probably be 17s in EU, hope they keep the climate control for UK release car. I may now wait till Sept to buy one, don't know if I could stand waiting that long though!

Agreed, I don't like the wheels. They look like those belonging to a Hyundai or something. The interior is better, but the cup holders look out of place IMHO.

Must agree with the wheel comments, that was my first thought! 16"!, But as people have said, they will probably (hopefully) keep 17" for the European market.

I bought an 03 SL WRX last Nov because I could'nt get an 04 in the right colour till Jan but having since looked at the 04 cars they seem little different.

If you need a new car then just buy one for 1 Sept so you've got it for when the roads start getting slippy!

Like the smoked headlights, don't like the vectra look wheels. Steering wheel centre boss has Momo logo on UK cars, prefer that to the subaru badge on the wrx picture.

nasty rear arch, looks tacked on (which it most likely was), nothing wrong with current rear and would take 8" wheels no problem.

Interior almost identical to current.

Smoked glass fair enough but still with the smashing orangey bits

So a few teeny things here and there? I'd take the discount off an 04.

Fella's

My first post here so give me some slack... I'm about to order a new MY05 having heard through the grapevine that it is coming soon. This after having a MY00 when new before changin to Porsche 993's - but baby due so back to reality. Anyhow, what I understand is as follows:

Changes as listed before, but in addition some of the pictures (although the links may have changed) are incorrect. From what I know:

- Will be 17" on UK model
- All other items will also be the same
- The interior image you have shown are incorrect - the car has the same as Liberty which can be seen on this page
http://www.cars101.com/subaru/imprez...005photos.html
- The other change is that the twin pipes at the rear have changed to a single pipe on the WRX
- The new steering wheel does indeed change to a three spoke rather than a 4 spoke wheel, and also now is still made by momo but now features the Subaru logo rather than the momo logo

I know these pics are US trim, but basically, from what I hear from Aus spec cars which are near as dammit the same (my MY00 was from when I lived in Aus), this is what we will get over here.

Finally, you'll all notice the adverts for free servicing on WRX until September. This is, I'm sure, as much to do with clearing old stock as it is to incentivise sales. Come end Sept I would think the new ones will be available. Put it this way - Subaru have not announced the MY05 yet so it's not official - but they are more than happy to take deposit's on the car from people who seem to know that the MY05 is coming along.

Incidentally, the interior is correct - I know this as it makes sense. MAny of you will have seen the Saab in the US which is essentially a rebadged WRX wagon? This is the new interior we will be getting as it's all made on the same production line. If you want to see what the MY05 will look like as well, go to www.saab.com and look at the Saab 2-X - you'll see what I mean.

Cheers fella's.

Damn - forgot to mention the new stereo is also a 6 stacker built in to the dash, rather than a single disk that you get now. Apparently the speakers have been upgraded, but will no doubt still be very poor...
