How long does it take to PDI a new scooby?
As above really(!)
My dealer has told me that once my new car gets to them it'll be 4 days before i can go and pick it up.
Is this just them being lazy/busy?

it's probably about right. At VW it takes 2hr's to do a PDI then another day to prepare the car and clean it. they also have to give themselves time to amend any faults or problems that may be spotted on the PDI.

Sounds like they want the car in the window to attract customers. My dealer wanted to keep mine for a few days giving the above reasons. I don't personally think its on because the wait we have already endured. Looking from their point of view, you can't blame them for trying it on though. One working day Imo is more than enough time. Thats how long it took to do mine. I've heard people having it done the day the car arrives...

After a few days of dithering I ordered my new WRX at 6.00pm on a thursday. I drove it away at 2.00pm on the friday !!.
My dealer is CVC in Cardiff, they have been excellent.

also it depends on the lead time for the workshop and when they can get it in just because your car is on site doesn't mean it will be pdi'ed the same day if there are customers allready booked in for servicing

Because of the delay, mine was PDI'ed within 2 1/2 hours of them receiving it and I'm getting the first full service free of charge.

It wouldn't surprise me Nathan, I always enjoy looking at the farm machinery they have for sale when they send me the service bill with the flyer enclosed . I think it must lessen the pain!

Mind, I think they took 3 mins to PDI my car as I'm still finding the glue from the protective sheets on car.
