wr1 decat
so at least 2 people with £30,000 cars have decatted them and NOT remapped them but left them on the prodrive maps which mike wood has said is at the limit of what it can do!!!
i will await the first wr1 rebuild with NO warranty help

Decatting a WR1 will probably decrease the performance/and or cause engine damage over the long term.
No doubt that someone from Prodrive will clarify this also, plus you invalidate your warranty. Decatting will increase the boost, first issue, the ecu is mapped to run those items (ie the performance cat and exhaust system) as they are, increasing boost from decatting will induce det at some level at some/most of the time, be it transient or variable (i think ive got that right )
Also, whos adding the covers?
They wont fit, sorry to say, but as a normal STi comes with only one slot to fit either the fogs/driving lights or covers on your a bit screwed (and yes ive checked).

teh only problem i have found with the WR1 is the non existance of power low down in the rev range.
Pulling away from lights, etc it can easily get bogged down and take years to recover.
I just dont know why prodrive didnt map the engine so that the turbo would spool up sooner.
Max torque is at 4800 rpm on mine with max 310 BHP at 6862 rpm
those covers, look good but why ?? does everyone get out and take them off at nigth time to see where they are going ? LOL !!

I guess some variation around the published specs might be expected, and there will also be a degree of inconsistency between RR set ups, but I'd be inclined to at least ask for a 2nd opinion...
