I have ordered strut braces for the front and back.
I think the car will be quick enough, so I'll be slowly tinkering with the suspension

I've got an adjustable 24mm rear anti roll bar & front strut brace on mine the a-r-b has got rid of the majority of understeer at full pelt on say v fast turns or big roundabouts. Getting the geometery & anti lift kit done next week hope fully.

Seems a lot of you are happy with the performance side of things, also i think the style is spot on, if it was in wr blue it would just look like any other wrx sti, i quite like the colour.

Wow! I like the driving light covers. I just checked Subaru.co.uk website but can't see them listed. Are these official Subaru parts?

Haven't go my WR1 yet but all this talk of mods has got me thinking already.... sigh.... it's only money right?

Thumbs down wr1 decat

so at least 2 people with £30,000 cars have decatted them and NOT remapped them but left them on the prodrive maps which mike wood has said is at the limit of what it can do!!!
i will await the first wr1 rebuild with NO warranty help

And even if it has been remaped the warranty is still void, Mines staying just as it is in engine and exhaust departments !!!!!!!

Out of interest -- having de catted them -- any significant difference? Was it worth it and what's the exhaust note like now?

I can tell you this for sure
Decatting a WR1 will probably decrease the performance/and or cause engine damage over the long term.
No doubt that someone from Prodrive will clarify this also, plus you invalidate your warranty. Decatting will increase the boost, first issue, the ecu is mapped to run those items (ie the performance cat and exhaust system) as they are, increasing boost from decatting will induce det at some level at some/most of the time, be it transient or variable (i think ive got that right )
Also, whos adding the covers?
They wont fit, sorry to say, but as a normal STi comes with only one slot to fit either the fogs/driving lights or covers on your a bit screwed (and yes ive checked).

M8 take a look at the above pic!! all you do is take the driving light surrounds off and the fog light covers go in their place. Not difficult a 3 minute job, i should know i did mine.

teh only problem i have found with the WR1 is the non existance of power low down in the rev range.

Pulling away from lights, etc it can easily get bogged down and take years to recover.
I just dont know why prodrive didnt map the engine so that the turbo would spool up sooner.

Max torque is at 4800 rpm on mine with max 310 BHP at 6862 rpm

those covers, look good but why ?? does everyone get out and take them off at nigth time to see where they are going ? LOL !!

Went 4 the genuine Prodrive set, saw part numbers on here so decided 2 ask dealer when i was in 4 the 1k service. Got a great deal of £202 fitted so decided 2 spend the wee bit extra on them as i wont be doing much else 2 the car really.
Cheers 4 the number by the way

Have u taken delivery of yours yet?

No, I think its the top secret Pro-drive developmental "hover-mod". Removes the understeer on bumpy A roads.

It sounds like you've had that tested, so have you approached your dealer to question it? I mean, the figures should be 320 PS @ 5800 and 420 Nm @ 4000 - so your revs seem way out.

I guess some variation around the published specs might be expected, and there will also be a degree of inconsistency between RR set ups, but I'd be inclined to at least ask for a 2nd opinion...

310bhp x 1.01387 = 314ps.

and with the different variables on any given day at a RR, dont think you could complain about that.
