03WRX CEL reset and diagnosis?

I had my CEL come on yesterday during some enthusiastic driving. I managed to reset it by swapping maps (I have an Ecutek switchable remap) but what is the correct way to reset it and make it flash a diagnosis of the problem? Something to do with the two green connectors under the dash?

They don't make em like the old uns.
There's no connectors for the new cars, so its either a dealer read & reset or software like delta dash.
