now that's very intresting.
Nice markup, almost 200%.

What should stop me from doing it myself?
is it hard work ?
dust free enviroment required ?

there's got to be a reason why it's so expecive from a dealer.

Other than the dealer need's a another holiday to the sun

I had it on my 1st Scoob and I think it made sweet fa difference to be honest. It's worth getting treatment inside for stain guarding your seats, but I think this exterior stuff is a bit of a con.

If you want to stop stonechips, armourfend would be a better bet.

Think the reason is, because it can be. Sell it as a "wonder product" and people will pay a fortune.

Yeah it is a bit expensive. I'll let you all know how I get on with it. It's supposed to save you polishing your car for a few years, but we'll see. It certainly made washing the dirt off the car easy. Time will tell if it's worth the dosh

http://www.jewelultra.com/english.htm

here is the site for them. I have spoken to a retailer and they sell one to Pugeot for £30 and they sell the service for £150.

How much are spotty teenagers on again an hour??

Surprised at this? Not really as its Rip Off Britain all over!

i had my old car treated with it 21 times @ the last count

i used it as regular body wax (i was a valetter and had quite a bit of it)

its good, but its not as good as the blurb says it is (ie 6 years protection and all that crap)

would you say its worth doing if your only paying the prices as per the link i just posted, and then applying it yourself?

Had a quick look on the link, but could only see the prices of the after care products. I suppose you need to register to see the price of the diamondbrite treatment. But It was nice not to have to perform the Diamondbrite process described in the site. Let someone else worry about the chemicals

Get a good valeter to give the car a swissoil (sp?) or something similar finish.

Better result and cheaper

relative had this done on their focus, they thought it was great until they saw mine polished.

save your money geta swissol or similiar stuff and do it yourself, no polish / wax gives that good a resisteant against stone chips. and even armafend looks tatty after a while. if you peel it off quite often the paint is chipped underneath just the film is holding it in place.
and to eb honest for the cost of armafend you could have the front end touched up a few times.

I can say that what everyone has said about diamond brite is correct
Have had customers try to claim under there warrenty and not one has been paid out told it hadnt been cleaned properly or used the correct shampoo etc etc

Have to agree a good valet will be a much cheaper and better option

you dont need to chat to your Bank manager to buy Swissol !
The initial out lay is a resonable amount however when you work it out on a weekly basis it is appox £2-£3 a week !
Thats half what people pay someone in a car park to purely was their car with a sponge covered in grit lol !

get hold of diamond brite from ebay, do it yourself and then polish it properly over the top, shine is great, don't believe the protection blurb though, but it helps the car look good!
Asked the guys on the jewelultra stand why they don't sell the product to everyone and he mumbled something along the lines of it has to be put on correctly so I did inform him that it was one of the easier jobs I had done and he then directed me towards some new product they are selling that is "similar" to diamondbrite but for around £50 (motor show special) for sale to everyone and I informed him again that I could get the real stuff for less than that!!!

Heh heh, yeah it got a moderate amount of stick on the mountain section.

Only had it up to an indicated 130mph on 1 or 2 strait-ish bits, but some serious speeds seen through lots of twisty bits. Managed to leave some big bikes well in the distance on a slightly gravelly unclassified road with lots of very tight hairpins.

Lot's of fun, but too many bikes to watch out for to make it really enjoyable. I'd love to go back again at a quiet time of year, i think it'd be possible to wear the car out pretty quick over there.

I get mine diamon brighted every month. My valeter does the lot inside and out for a £100.

Looks a treat when he has finished aswell.

Well worth it imo.

diamond brite simply does not protect the car like it says it does

get the car diamondbrited and then polish over the top???
what kind of advice is that?
polish will removed the diamond brite

valleters are suppsoedto do a yearly check on the car to make sure its still present on the paint, i refused to do them (how the **** are you supposed to check??)

a top level bloke from diamond brite came into our center to sort it all out and his responce

"look at the car and seeif its shiney"

what exactly does that prove??

when i quiered the inside treatment
"get it dirty and see if it cleans up"

sorry but thats the biggest load of crap i have ever heard in my life
if you can get the kits cheap then by allmeans use it as a regular wax for a nice shine,
DONT PAY FULL PRICE FOR IT!!

Sounds like it's one big *ucking rip off from Diamondbrite.
well done to the marketing team, selling stuff that sucks from the sounds of things.

Sounds like we need to arrange a trip over there next year for the scooby boy's and girls's.

Are you coming to the Swindon fest which Scooby Minx is arranging?

My car looked better after a diamon bright, then it did a swissol. But I get mine done everymonth. I must have about 7 layers of it on the car.

But the price I get it done for it's great, I definatly WOULD NOT pay full price for it.

Thumbs down

I have seen this many times at dealerships, new car owner thinks that they are buying a wonder product that will protect the paintwork, salesman really pushes it, usuall retail cost to the customer of about £200/£300 the car then goes round the back where some retard on £3 an hour cracks open a £25 pack of Diamond bright slaps it on and an hour later job done.I really do think that it is one of the biggest rip offs around. Theres nothing wrong with the product if its in the £25 range but £200 buys an awfull lot of Swissol products, which in my opinion are worth every penny.
