scoop trauma
i managed to collect a pigeon at about 100 mph.
it hit the bonnet scoop and was sliced in half, leaving behind its tail, one leg and most of its entrails for me to pick out!
i now need a new scoop as the old opne is bust.
i would go for a carbon one if i could find one, from the point of view that it would look cool and would not require painting. a std one would do and i could have it painted when i get back.
the car is MY93 classic scoob WRX.
if anyone you can help i would be very grateful.

i will try and get some sorted, my parents have gone away with the family digi camera, but a mate has one.
it was quite spectacular, feathers every where. was crapping my self as they flew out and dabbed the brakes, although not too much as i was on a crest with a slight right hand off camber bend in it! i was worried for the front mounted intercooler, but fortunately the scoop bound bird just sort of slid up the bonnet, whilst the other just smacked in to the windscreen right in fromnt of my face!
held my course though and then picked out the remains when i got home!

You don't realise how many feathers pigeons have till you hit them
Last time I hit one they were stuck in the grill, intercooler, feathers everywhere! Still, that's one less pigeon to crap on your car

Sorry to hear that you need a new scoop, but that the best use of it - to get shot of the EFFign flying rats!!!
If you want a used one try "Forresters" here
Ivan (the owner) is a great guy, tell him that Dan sent ya!!

I have to swerve to avoid the fat little lazy barstewards on the way to work early in the morning!! They sit on the road and fly at the car at the last minute.
I used to kill loads of the winged rats in my Probe as there was very little at the front that could get damaged - but one day on the way to work one smashed the grill on the missus Focus that I had borrowed - she was not happy
So I now avoid them in the Scoob. They are like bricks if your going fast. It's really funny if one hits the windscreen though - leaves a big grey smear

That is terrible!!! just think if you hadn't been speeding the accident would have been avoided, it just goes to show that speeding is a factor in fatal accidents
