Default Scoobies and LPG?

With petrol prices going sky high has anyone considered going lpg?

Has it been done before, and if so was it successful? If not is it feasible?

What, using the search facility?

IIRC This was discussed sometime ago and the conclusion was that there are technical difficulties with using LPG on forced induction cars. If you have a normally aspirated Scoob then it may be an option. As stated do a search for threads on LPG, I'm sure you will find a lot of the technical detail.

Well on the Seat Cupra forum there's a Cupra R running LPg that incidentally has a TURBO and therefore isn't N/A

them gas tanks must weigh a ton! no good for your accel/decel times, or cornering for that matter!

u know they'll put the tax on gas just as high once everyone has been forced to convert....

If it could be proved that new age cars are ok on LPG I'd be very interested as I'd probably take just over a year to get my money back on current usage.

So who if anyone has actually converted a scoob to run on LPG?

Aside from the fact it's a really bad idea, for the money that it would cost to convert you could probably buy something like an Omega diesel that would run up and down motorways in comfort doing 50mpg+ into the next century...

Bloke you're missing the point, the last car I want is a diesal.
I want to have the same performance and fun for half the price if possible.

For the umpteenth time, if you use the search facility you will find plenty of information on why you shouldn't convert a Scoob to run on LPG and it's all up to date.

As someone with a strong vested interest in you actually converting your car to LPG I wouldn't recommend it.
