Default fuel advice?

hi all,am new to this and am after a bit of advice.i'm looking to buy a wrx on a m/n plate and am wondering if i'll be able to run it on shell optimax with dose of octane booster now and then,or is there something i'll need to have done to it?i've heard of something called a"knocklink",but it dont mean owt to me i'm afraid!sorry for the ignorance!thanks,keith.

Japanese imports are mapped to run on 102RON fuel, so you would be better off getting it re-mapped to UK fuel standards to prevent engine damage. You should be able to run Optimax and octane booster in the meantime

Knocklink is a warning system which alerts the driver if pre-detonation (potential engine damage) is occurring, and is handy to have on an import.
