MY02/03 10,000 mile service... more power? opinions please...
Just had the 10K service done on my 03 STi. Also had the service plus option of the engine and fuel flush. The car definitely feels smoother (which I expected after a service).
However the engine definitely feels to rev a bit more freely with a bit more power low down.
Question to you is...
Is this possible or am I imagining it? Has anyone else felt any differences after the first proper service after their engine has loosening up a bit? (which I would presume it has done after 10K miles)
Cheers,
Dan
- Hope it gets even nippier after the 20K service

had my 10000 service done last week, wasnt told about the engine and fuel flush, not really noticed any difference, but i had only just done 5000 miles so not really loosened up yet but im trying hard to retify that problem have you got ppp on yours ive got it on mine so might not notice it as much.

nice exhaust, i keep thinking about a more noisier one but the prodrive one sounds nice, and every time i talk about it to the wife all i get is silence and the usual look that says why!! also warranty questions rear their ugly head as well, but maybe one day.

...engine and fuel flush would have helped things along, certainly - as would having 10,000 miles under your belt. Car should have loosened up nicely by now.
But check the individual items on your service schedule carefully - I thought my car went better directly after the service as well, but not for long (about 300 miles or so) - went to have another look at the service printout and found they had added a can of booster!!! (and charged me). No problem with that I guess, but it's a bit of a con as you can't really put the difference down to the quality of the service then.... its a bit of a marketing ploy I think .......

I'm resisting PPP at the moment.
The way I see it, I've only had the car for a few months. Its my first turbo and an extra 50/60 hp from my old car. So I have a lot to enjoy right now.
I can look at PPP when I get used/bored with the current power and delivery. But I'm enjoying it right now, so don't feel the need. Numbers don't mean anything to me really, its all about the experience, and mine is good right now.
Had a prodrive backbox fitted though, which is a top addition IMO
