Default Decat downpipe & MOT MY01 On

Was about to place an order for a Decat downpipe to fit MY01 newage but was told by the reputable supplier that after fitting it - "It WILL fail the MOT on emissions".

Anyone out there decatted the downpipe on an MY01 (leaving other CATS on) and "legitimately" passed an MOT?

Total decat will fail. Leaving one cat in should be ok. But dont quote me on that. LOL

Currently have a Magnex system with a de-cat centre and one cat in the downpipe on my MY00. And recently passed it's MOT.

A centre cat should be fine for the MOT as long as its nice and warm

Good question mate. sorry to hi-jack your thread !!! I am wondering myself about removing one of my cats on my standard Sti 03. Not sure which would bring the best performance increase but definately stay legal. Anyone know? I've heard mixed opinions. I presume my cat setup would be different to yours???

Cheers,

Dan
