Am I losing the plot? .. Optimax pluspoints
I have asked several times at one of the main Opti' shops in nottingham (priory) about an 'OptimaxPoints' card.
Several other owners has mentioned about it to me..
'whats that? dunno mate.. we only do PLUSPOINTS cards.. take an application..'
ARGH
so: I have my standard card (accruing points like a plague) and can I for the life of me find a way to 'upgrade' to the Optimax card? no. cust support seems to be permanently be shut or engaged.. grrr
The amount of fuel I buy they should be treating me like royalty!

I started off with a pluspoints card.
When i got a statement through, they had noted that i use optimax and swapped me
over to an optimax card complete with all points intact

Optimax Pluspoints cards are by invitation of Shell only. It gives you more bonus points (they aren't capped) and some Ferrari-team merchandise options to spend them on.
It took me about 6 months and 15k miles to get my invite. Keep loading up your bog-standard one and they'll invite you when you've spent enough

Didn't realise it was such an exclusive club...mine just came through the post one day. Still going to take 1000s of litres to earn enough points for anything!

I think you collect 2 or 3 times as many points each time you fill up with the Optimax card compared with the normal one. Also there's supposed to be an Optimax bonus too, not sure what that is.
One petrol station person told me you had to buy Optimax 3 times within a 3 week period to qualify, i'd done this many times over so i called the number on the back of the card and asked to be upgraded.
No idea what my points balance is looking like though...

I got my Optimax card soon after changing to a 4.7V8 - Strange that! What I did notice was that even though I had the Optimax card and only ever purchase Optimax I wasn't actually receiving the bonus points until I phoned Shell and told them about their error. Worth checking on the statement you get to see if the bonus points have been added.

It's down to the cashier to ensure that the fuel is recorded as Optimax. As I only ever buy Optimax I should have two equal sets of bonus points, but didn't. On the phone customer services said that some of the fuel was registered as diesel . To Shell's credit they did add the missing poiints at the next statement .

One of the attendants in Manchester told me to upgrade if you use Optimax at least TWICE A MONTH (I fill up every other day)
To "upgrade" my card I just rang em up
Got my new card a week or so later. (It's red..........)
anyway I'm on 3000 points and counting.........
See you on the next run
Dave
