WR1 - Order / Delivery / Receipt?
Might be interesting to start a thread on WR1 order, delivery and receipt dates? and to see who & how many folks on here have ordered one..
Ordered mine end of February & nothing heard! but dealer said expect it end of May possibly June....(sigh.....I hate waiting!)

Ordered 15th Jan 2004, 2nd on Dealer list. Told to expect car May/Jun/Jul time.
Dealer has been consistent all the way along, telling me very little other than the car is expected before August! To be fair though I haven't pushed them as the longer the wait the bigger my deposit and the less I have to finance. After all these extra months waiting I'll probably only need to finance 28K rather than 29K

Just out of interest, I was talking to a dealer who says he has sold 4 and 2 were to people who have never had a Subaru previously. He said this is the general sales profile for all the dealerships regarding the WR1.

Not much then? You better start saving a bit harder.

Ordered car at the end of January, the dealer has just rang requesting my insurance details so that the car can be registered. I am expecting delivery within the next 2 weeks bit of bummer having to start the insurance from today but such is life.

SIBBO, have you got the most conservative post count on here?, just about one post every month for the last 3 years and 9 months, excellent. Makes me wonder who has the lowest post count in the longest time, bored?, who me? .
Anyway, strolled off topic there for a while...
edited to add RB5261 in there too, at around 1 post every 2 months
Sorry, carry on

Ordered mine in a mad moment last Saturday (17th April). It was the last of the dealers three allocated cars and I have been told to expect delivery in July (August latest). But as with WR1 I won't be pushing too hard as it gives me more time to sell my 98 Wagon (+ one other car) and save up for the biggest deposit possible.
Regards

After reading that afew of you peeps are getting delivery dates and deliverys before myself even tho i have placed and order before some of you I thought it was time to start harassing my dealer. I placed my order on the 19th of Jan, or there abouts, and part ex'd my 98 2000 at the same time. After a phone call yesterday the guy said that they haven't had any information never mind any deliveries and that I am No 1 on there list but he'd give IM a call. So, after a phone call to IM he came back and said that he should be able to give me some information after the 1st of May!? That would mean that the earliest they would have their 1st delivery of a WR-1 would be presumably mid May! Surly by that time some dealerships would be receiving there 2nd and maybe even 3rd WR-1???
Am I getting a fob off or is there some serious irregularities in the distribution from IM? I don't mind waiting if there is a consistent structure in-place for the distribution but as there seems there isn't I would expect much better representation fromm my dealer as they have my deposit AND the money from my part ex!

I would be getting realllllly pissed at your dealer.
Sounds like he's not that bothered about getting you the car, just taking your money.
My dealer, by far the best.
Got their first car last week, their second car is coming in this Tuesday.
That one is mine.
My order was 6th March
Car number 97
Got all my details this morning.
Does sound like some dealers are in the Good books with IM and some are clearly not

Just been to drop my WRX off at the dealers for a service and there was a WR1 in the showroom - sold apparantly along with the other 3 they managed to source - but kept at the dealers at the behest of the owner (must be on holiday or something). So I would assume that delivery of the other cars shouldn't be too much longer.
And the colour is not half as 'gay' as everyone says. Looks a lot better in the metal than it does on photos. I still think they should've made it a 2-door though ...
5k service intervals is a bit though - makes the MR340 not seem as harsh.

Interesting
OK so it does seem as if IM do pick and choose which dealers get "better" delivery then others, as it seems some will get 2 cars delivered for orders placed as late as March, before other dealers claim to have had any notification for cars ordered in December. Certainly I experienced this with the PPP for my STi. IM had issues with my dealer (who no longer sell scoobs) and so never delivered my PPP for nearly 6 months!
So to those in the know what are the implications of users of this forum naming their dealers to get an idea of the favour that each carries with IM? I for one would rather place and order at a dealer where I was more confident of getting better delivery from IM in the future and WR1 delivery seems a good benchmark.
I too placed my order in early Feb and my dealer has no real dates for me yet, and have a horrible feeling that I have picked a non-favoured one!

Just had a call from my dealer to say nothing heard from IM yet.... so if i'm the forth on the list and the first person on the list hasn't heard anything.. it looks like June / July time for me at this rate..(another lung emptying sigh....)
Funny thing was (and I don't remember where I saw it) I read that the distribution & extra WR1 cars allocation was a goodwill gesture by IM in return for dealers who took on additional Foresters (or similar) which IM had a rather large stock of.
So some dealers who 'shifted' these cars as a favour were (or will be) rewarded with extra cars & quicker delivery times.
Then again I could be wrong?
But if its true I guess my dealer didn't shift any
