Default Sidelight bulb advice please...

Just noticed my drivers side sidelight bulb has gone - does anyone know what bulb I need to get to repalce it and is it a simple enough job to replace it? ie a quick 5 mins in and out job? ooh er!

Not changed a bulb on my scoob but all other cars I owned have been, remove plug, remove rubber boot, undo clip, remove bulb, replace.

The only car I had that was different had pop up lights and in the end I got the dealer to do it LOL!

Raise bonnet and remove crossheaded screw. Sidelight should slide towards the front of the car but it may require a bit of persuading with an up and down movement while pushing/pulling towards the front of the car. The bulb holder twists out from the unit if I remember correctly.

Dan, this is assuming you have a classic (Unless its the same on later cars, which I don't think it is...)

Once the lens is off, the bulb bit is easy

BUT - The lens can be a bugger !!!!

Mark

PS - Take a look at this previous thread

If it`s a Bugeye the whole headlight unit hast to come out , took me around an hour to do both on mine when I changed my headlight bulbs and sidelights. Now there not a horrible yellow'ish clour , just a nice bluey white.

It's a 2 minute job. I changed my sisters the other week. They are the push in type with the wire contacts if you know what I mean. Like said before:

Pop the bonnet
undo the phillips screw
gently pull the light out (can be fiddly)
undo bulb holder
pull out bulb
reverse the above to re-fit
