Which modification???
I have been investigating mods for my 2002 wrx.
I have talked to Scooby clinic and TSL about up pipes, down pipes and ecu etc.
The prices are similar the problem is one recommends a new bigger fuel pump and the other says it not required on the WRX.
Does anyone have any experiance of this kind of mod and is the pump required.
I know that if i was to go for a big bhp conversion in the future the pump would definatly be needed but surly not just for a re-map and exhaust.

I know of lots of MY01/02 WRX's running a full decat with an ECUTEK remap or PPP without an uprated fuel pump (mine included). Similarly, there are probably lots of people running the same setup with the uprated pump.
It's probably a good idea to change it at the same time but not essential.

I would expect the OE fuel pump can deliver enough fuel to feed the airflow of the TD04 turbo you have without any problems.
I went for an uprated fuel pump to compliment the bigger turbo fitted on my MY02 WRX .

i believe this all stems from the MY02SIiUK PPP , 300bhp they had some engines blow
During tests at various Tuners, including Prodrive, found that 'some' not 'all' STd STi Pumps were struggling to maintain pressure at high speeds in 6th. They then 'leaned' out and melted pistons and things The STi PPP kits was than to include an uprated Fuel Pump.
But this didn't effect the MY02WRX PPP 270 Bhp IIRC

With a full decat and custom remap you could be looking at up to 285-290BHP.
For the sake of £120 I heartily reccommend uprating the pump.
It just so happens I've just put my 02 WRX back to standard and have a 4 month old uprated pump you can have for £85 inc postage.

Nice price for the fuel pump Even if you don't need it now you could always put it away "for a rainy day".
Midlife.....
PS
Edcase...did you sell your quickrack in the end ??

....good idea
Nah its still on the car. Shocked nobody wanted it. Huh, call themselves 'enthusiastic drivers'
It'll cost best part of £200 to get it taken off (you need the 4 wheel alignment and tracking done after) so you're talking nearly £500 all-in with the rack, which I guess is a fair chunk of money.
Mind you, how much time do you spend steering....

Thats about it sadly, everything else has gone
Few bits I've left on that aren't worth removing like prodrive suspension, uk300 lip, whiteline ARB, STi flaps...

hehe, nah i thought about it long and hard, and its probably worth more leaving it on the car and adding £150 to the price
I don;t think a prospective buyer would like seeing holes in the inner arches
