Induction Kit Evil or good????
Hello all, your experience may just save me,
Want the noise that the induction kit makes when you back off
(cos it sounds wicked)!!
But absolutely cr!£ping it that it's gonna kill the MAF sensor and cost me dear
Was thinking of K&N or Pipercross,
Thanks for any ideas/advice in advance

Not sure what you mean about induction kit noise when you back off ...... Its the dump valve which releases air when you change gear or back off .....the induction kit makes the noise under acceleration on whilst at constant speed, well it was with mine, till i took it off

MAF on an MY96 should be ok for most Induction Kits. MY99> has problems with MAF's and induction.
BTW FWIW a fellow scoobynetter had his car re-mapped recently and had a 17% increase in intake temperatures with the induction kit fitted over a panel filter. He was advised to and subsequently changed it to a panel filter.

this compliments a dump valve!

Chris ...... my neighbour found my dog in his garden at 4.30 in the morning and brought her back at 6.30......I had driven all over town for 9 hours and she was found 15 yards from my front door ..arrhhhhhh
As for the induction kit your right chris the inlet temp went down 17degrees when mine was taken off and changed for a green panel filter. It aint no good if its drawing hot air in.... The sound was cool under acceleration but got on my **** at a constant 80MPH when it turned into a constant whistle.....each to their own though ....
