STi Type UK, Panel Filters
Can anyone give me some advice regarding STi branded panel filters? Are they fitted as standard to STI's? if not where can they be sourced from, and at what cost etc??
Many thanks

You can get them from ScoobyMania at about 40 odd quid... there was a group buy on not long ago. Do a search!

I buggered up 2 MAF's on my P1 by having an oil based foam panel filter - performance improvements probably nil....

As Avalanche says, it's paper-based, dry, no oil in it.
I lost an engine 6 months ago due to an oil-based one which is why I use the genuine STi article, and it does feel better with it in. If it was no better, why would they go to the expense of making one for STi's?
Safe to buy this one, but IMHO don't touch an oil-based one like UniFilter or ITG.

Okay agree that if it's an official STI paper based filter then it's less likely to cause problems than the 3rd party oil based filters.
However if it makes such a difference why don't Prodrive fit them as part of the PPP?

Was running an ITG for a month - until attack of the green goop got the better of me Tis a shame cos the ITG is a quality panel too
