Rally Driving Courses
Greetings from Washington... State that is - Seattle, the Space Needle, Mount St. Helens.
I'm planning a trip home to dear old Blighty this summer and I have a hankerin' to try a rally driving course. I found a bunch listed on a website but I'm looking at a fair chunk of change for anything that mentions WRX and I reaaaaally wanna chuck someone else's Rex around in the mud.
Sooo I'm curious whether anyone here has any experience of these courses? Are they worth the money? Any one in particular you would recommend? (I'm heading back to North Lincs but I'd be willing to travel for something good)
Cheers,
Ian.

If you can, try and contact floppy dave on this website. His bird got him a rally course for his bday and he said it was really good. Think it was somewhere around the West Midlands. I know he got to drive Escort and Sapph Cossies but not sure about scoobs!!!! its worth a try!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ian,
Have a look here .
Went on a course a couple of months back and it was one of the best days i've had, including the driving day i had at Prodrive.
Price wise is not so bad and the amount of learning to be had from the instructors is unreal.
I've been to other "rally" days but it ends up being you told what to do and not actually being taught something.
Have a look and see.
Mel.

Haven't been to Bill Gwynne (yet) but they have an excellent reputation. You could also contact my mate Howard at Rallydrive . You can only drive his Scoobs on the dry stuff, but he has a mud section that he uses Golf GTi's on. Superb tuition at a very reasonable price. If you go, I'd recommend booking it for midweek, with just 2 people to maximise track time.

The best place you can go to is Phil Price Rally School.
It has won the award for being the best rally school for i think about the last 5 years.
This is based on time in the car. What they actually learn and how much people improve.
I've been to nearly all other rally schools and they are not a patch to Phil Prices' .
They use MK" Escorts and sierra cosworths

I've been to Phil Price Rally School too. Had a very enjoyable day with lots of tail out action. I would have liked more time in the car, but as it's the only rally school I've been too I'll have to defer to others if they say you get more time there than with other schools. I guess all day would not have been long enough
He doesn't have any scoobs though if that's specifically what you're looking for.

Hi
My mate did the Bill Gwynne rally school and said it was worth every penny. You get numerous goes to improve through the day but he said to top it off Bill takes you out as a passenger and when he set it up sideways over a blind bend at 70 he only then realise what true car control was about
