Am interested in swapping my impreza for a B4

Am interested in changing my 98 impreza wagon for a B4, already have a Legacy Outback(98) for the wife, now thinking of trading for a B$
Q's

Are they all imports?
What are the main mechanicals I should look for(twin turbos sounds expensive)?
Insurance?
What sholud I expect to pay for a 99/00 model?

Am i best selling mine private and buying private or looking to trade with an importer?

Nothing like a questionaire.

Yes they're all imports.
The main mechanicals are as per Impreza, we just get to play with one more turbo

Insurance, tricky one, depends on all sorts. they're grp19-20.

Prices, they vary considerably, just take a look at autotrader.
There's always a risk buying private, if you want more piece of mind, pick a trader with a very good warrenty.

B4RSK = saloon
GTB = wagon

Bolney Jap Car Meet

The question has already been proposed (have we got enough cars).

I will be going to the 'Bolney' meet

in Sussex

AFAIK it's the biggest gathering of Jap cars in the south.

Would be nice to have a good turnout of TT's and show the jap car community that we exsist (yet to see any features in JP).

AFAIK all legacy twin turbos are imports except for a few brought in for Prodrive and used for management or as service barges.

The B4s are all 4 door saloons and GTs & GTBs are all 5 door estates, although I am certain that I saw a 2 door Legacy coupe once, though only the once & everyone I have spoken to denies they exist.

I bought my GT because I wanted a comfortable & practical estate that would go well when the need arose. The UK Legacy turbos I drove were all slow at low revs & both brakes & gear changes felt horrible.

My Legacy GT is an auto, mainly because it was £3,000 cheaper than the manual I was offered at the same time, but also because I can drive to work every day whilst still waking up.
With the twin turbos & auto box performance is no more than adequately quick from a standing start, though if everything hooks up correctly it seems bloody quick, it really starts moving well when using all the revs in the 80 to 120 range.....naughty but nice!!!
