Default Tracker info

Hi guys

Just need to know about trackers.I need one for my insurance which they will think i have but i won't lol

I'm going to get one the second i buy the car though, the thing is it lists what tracker you have and basically i need to know the most popular ones and ones that are a decent price so i can say it's got one. Navtrak? RAC Guardian? they are a few off a massive list.

Am i right in thinking they are about £300 to get one then £100 a month sub? Can any place fit them as in (dare i say it) Halfords or will the WRX electrics make the people who fit headunits all day confused and i'll have to see a specialist?

Cheers in advance

I've got an RAC Trackstar. It was already fitted but the subscription is £110 per year not per month. For about £300'ish you can cover the car for as long as you have it illiminating the yearly charge.

Not sure if I'd let Halfords fit it though?!

I have a tracker monitor, again was on the car when i got it.

It was actually the one that I wanted as the trackers from RAC that are insurance approved (with my insurer at least) are a lot more expensive than the tracker monitor.

If you have a shufty on trackers website, there are shed loads of approved fitters and so far they have been really good from a customer service point of view, the transfer procedure for the tracker was pretty painless, appart from the fact that it's another yearly outgoing.

Subscription is pretty much the same as the RAC trackstar

Never ever tell your insurance company an untruth. If you get caught you will never get insurance. Ask them for a list of approved trackers and then shop round for the best deal, pick one and tell them the type and it will be fitted on such and such a day.
They should be helpful, other than NU who wont have a clue what your talking about!

Cheers for the info guys.

R32 all i meant was that i would pick one first that was on the list and arrange to get it fitted as soon as i had the car..it's a bit difficult as i'm buying insurance online for the discount.I would never lie about stuff like just bending the truth a tad

I've seen some with the tracker already fitted so i might be lucky.
