Question Laser Jammers

Are they worth it ?
Ive been told that although they stop you from getting a ticket,
they throw up one of two error codes on their equipment.

This error is only seen with jammers (error 701 or something)
Therefore you can be had for preventing the cause of justice.
The penalty for this is much worse than speeding ???

Is this true or just scare tactics ?

As far as I know the only person that has been prosecuted for using a jammer is some idiot in wales who was deliberatly speeding past the police speed checkpoint, jamming them over and over again.

Assuming you're not that stupid you should be okay.

As for whether the laser gun gets a jam alert....it depends on how sophisticated the jammer is.

How can you be prosecuted for "perverting the course of justice" when they can't prove a crime has been committed as they don't have an accurate reading of speed?

A trial heading for failure IMHO.

The guy in question had his car impounded while the police checked it. They had the car for several weeks and charged him £180 to tow it as well.

Don't use it as a reason to speed past camera vans is the solution.

The error message given on most guns when jammed is E-04 , this is the same error that can be caused by reflected sunlight

Speeding past camera vans would be irrelevant - other than you can stick a finger up at them - given that 99% of the vans are subcontractors, that are not police..........

Its if the Police are using the laser gun up a sliproad, or on the motorway, which they regularly do on the M4............... then you should be ok - I wouldnt be too concerned about the Police anyway - most are fecking idiots..........

I've had laser jammers for a few yrs.

I am getting the wife a Scooby - I will be fitting jammers, front and rear to this........................ enough said.................
