I can't get the link to work, but if it;s only a jammer it won't detect Gatso's and things will it?
I reckon you'd need a jammer and a detector, as most detectors aren't very good with laser anyway.

Most uk radar detectors dont work very well
with gatsos, because of the refelected signal
from a low powered radar transmitter, and there are not that many hand held radar detectors being used any more.

I have changed the link address, now it should work hopefully!

Very true Andy, BUT

1) You can speed without necessarily getting caught...BUT

2) Do you think you can use a jammer (and its only really "used" when a laser gun is pointed at it) WITHOUT GETTING CAUGHT?

Recent article in Car (i think?) magazine rated jammers quite highly, and some detectors as useless.

But wouldn't it be quite obvious to the police that you've got a jammer one since they cant lock onto you.

I read the article in EVO just before Christmas. Found it very interesting, so took some advice about the Laser Jammer idea. EVO stated you could be perverting the course of justice. What I was told is that if you get caught using one, then you may get done for police obstruction and have the jammer seized as evidence.

For the jammer to work the copper has got to point the laser speed device directly at it.Dont believe what the box or manufacturers say. Unfortunately the coppers aim at your front number plate as its highly reflective to light ( laser). So save your money punters..!

Paul,

I am sure that the EVO mag said they were illegal to use.

Good luck anyways

I have a friend who has one, it went off twice in the first 29,600 miles

The system can only fire once every 30 secs as it needs to recharge and it also allows the driver to slow down. As the police officer will try to get another fix on you.

My friend was not stopped on either occasion, the policeman did not look too puzzled , as these devices are notorious for being tempramental!

The jammer sits behind the number plate, so when they fire the Laser at you, they are in fact firing it at the jammer ? So it will work. Thats the way i understood the EVO article anyway ?

This unit is mounted in two places on the front of the car and not behind the number plate the unit also has a instant response
to laser activity they have a picture on the web site of the heads and how it works.

Was Evo testing the same unit?

Also this was tested by the ukspeedtraps site
and was 100% effective on all uk laser guns!

Cool

The jammer bits (x2) sit halfway between the number plate and headlights on the bumper. The site above says it works so i guess you pays yer money and takes yer chances!

Not sure if its the same unit, but sounds like it works in the same way, or very similar way, they did say it worked very well though, only concern was Mr Plod's reaction when his Laser went berserk

Exactly my point, Mr Cook,

The guy is gonna be confused when he suddenly doesnt get a reading and if he's smart, he'll pull ya over and check your car....and if he finds anything....

The laser gun comes up with errors which can happen on all laser guns?

When you get zapped by a gun you slow down and switch the unit off so the police can get a speed reading with no errors this time so it gives you a fair chance of not getting a ticket for speeding witch of course is illegal!

Any way i am getting one if it gives me fair chance of getting away with a speeding ticket
by laser detection!!!

Hampshire police now use a new type of laser gun that has a video capture device built in!
I have seen and held this unit but it is only used for short range detection up to 400 meters it is the size of a small digital video camera.

well *&^^& me if I didnt get zapped by exactly the thing you are describing Huxley..(video capture)..

comin down the m6 yesterday from penrith..maroon car on a bridge with a guy and some equipment. Cautiously I dropped from 95 to about 85..as I got closer the V1 signalled a laser alert..emergency stop routine in the fast lane ! reckon I could have been doing anywhere between 75 and 85 depending on how his unit was..as I got closer it looked like a video camera.

what was an absolute pisser is that conditions were excellent, there was **** all traffic on the road and realistically, if its videod all they have to do is process the offence - even at 80 they could send me the fine and i'd be shafted.
luckily my car is a disgrace at the moment..so filthy i reckon he may have had problems getting a lock or reading my plate..
we'll see...

Hope you don't get a ticket in the post
in a few days !

They seem to be using the video camera type
laser guns more now speaking to a hampshire traffic cop he says that they use this type because they are so portable and easy to use and download there results!! and now most forces use them !!!
