OK, perhaps not as serious as that, but the door window switches on my '98 UK car have "Nissan" on the underside of them.
I've heard about globalisation, but didn't know Japanerse manufacturers did each others bits like this?

Yep it's not uncommon for them to share certain components with other 'marques'...............my turbo has a Mitsubishi logo on it!! (but keep it to yourself).

Years ago when stripping down and restoring a 1967 Sunbeam Alpine I was surprised by some of the names found on some components. Rear axle by Qualcast - best known for lawnmowers...

Not sure about Subaru parts supply, but all car manufacturers purchase most parts from 3rd party specialist suppliers, especially switches. No car manufacturer makes their own switches, in fact many don't make much at all, they just bolt it together at the end.
Did some IT work a few years ago for Lucas (aka Lucas Varity, aka TRW/Delphi/Goodrich depending on which bit of the old Lucas you were looking at) their plant in Burnley made switchgear with common production lines where bits are made for MG Rover, Nissan, Toyota, Renault, Citroen etc. Often the only difference was the colour of the paint markings (it that).
The same is true for a lot of the more complex bits too - specialist companies are doing the development for ABS, and the manufacturers just fit the stuff. If you think about it, car companies cannot realistically be specialists in producing every type of component, so they subcontract, and there are only so many suppliers - those that get parts onto high production run vehicle do OK (at very low margins), those that don't go out of business.

alot of the wiring is the same as the nissan. When i fitted my turbo timer it was the same harness that also fitted a nissan 200zx or something.
The subaru 4 pots are almost identical to the newer nissan 200zx.

Yep not uncommon at all to find bits from different manufacturers on this car (or any).
AFAIK ,Subaru are made up of six different Jap companies.
Alot of the parts are the same as various Nissans. The callipers from the S14 200sx are made by the same co and have the same internals (also use the same brake pads) Shame the mounting holes are different.
I was a little shocked the first time I saw Nissan on the switches but then I got used to it after seeing it on relays, mirror and door/light switches (we are
being conned).Oh yes and the h/light wiper stalks are like a Toyota,s
