Paintwork scratches too easily!
Hi,
Just bought a Impreza Turbo in Silver and noticed the paintwork is so easily scratched I washed it yesterday and scratched the bonnet the sponge must have had a tiny piece of grit on it I am not happy I hope it polishes out. Has anyone else noticed the paintwork is like this.

Unfortunately it is a sad fact of life that Subaru paint ,like most others now they are "environmentaly friendly",is not very robust.
I think the old solvent based paints were a lot tougher.
All you can do is keep your cleaning gear scrupulously clean.Rinse & re-rinse your cloth regularly between panels.Oh & ditch the sponge as when a bit of grit gets caught in it you will not rinse it away so easily as you would with a cloth or chammy.
Think yourself lucky you have silver, mine is black & shows every swirl mark & water mark.Does look the bo££ocks when its been prepped though.
