stevie boy,

It's triggered by the ECU but what triggers that I am not quite sure although I think it's a combination of throttle position and boost pressure.

As for making sure and when it comes in, disconnect the water feed pipe and pin it underneath a windsreen wiper, go for a blast and you will know when it comes in!!

this has been debated before but no-one has come up with the definative answers.

I'd for certain like to know what triggers it, and can this trigger be altered ?

Question

I'm confused here I thought the i/c spray was manual-only. Does it also kick in automatically?

AUTO mode is on the decent JDM STi's
I think its triggered by a sensor that picks up the ammount of heat in the intercooler, its not done on boost as on a cold day you dont need it

Mike Wood did indeed post about the spray being automatic, and I even had this confirmed over on the Ecutek forums too:

However, no-one seems to know how this is indeed triggered. The only comments I have found are "look at the wiring diagram".

Surely, someone must know the definative answer to this..
