clutch staying down
hi
just wondering if it is normal for a clutch on my98 turbo to stay half depressed when given some welly but when get back to normal driving springs back to normal starting position, what it seems like is when giving it a bit of boot it is reducing gear change speed by reducing the play in the clutch travel, by the way it is a quickshift short box any help would by grteful

This happened on my mate sti 5, but after a bit it wouldn't come back up at all,
Had a look & the pipe behind the servo had an egg in it. & it was letting the pipe flex & not let the clutch back up. Options get a new pipe or get a braided on made up for about a £10. Problem solved.
Very simlare to the brake line hoses.
Hope this helps

Hi everyone ,had the same problem on my MY98 and it was the return spring, about £7-£8 from a main dealers and about 3 mins work and has never happened again.Check if yours is broken, its under the intercooler, get a mate to operate the clutch and your'll find the arm(its a bit difficult to see )
