Default STI7 Question

Hi Guys

I want to fit a STI8 bonnet scoop to my sti 7 - is this possible.? I cannot find anyone online that sells the sti8 scoop, only the sti7 one. Do you know if main dealers will fit this..?

Eh? The STi7 (2001MY) and STi8 (2002MY) have the same scoop. Are you talking about the STi9/10 (2003/2004MY) scoop?

If so, you will indeed be able to get one as a spare part from a Subaru dealer, or indeed a breaker/recycler/third party supplier like Grade A. However, I rather suspect you would need either an 03/04MY bonnet (and all the other front end cosmetic bits to go with it), or extensive modifications to your current one to make it fit.

Seem to recall that a third party manufacturer is making an STi9/10 style scoop to fit older cars, so a bit of searching on the web might pay dividends.

Wink

GM doesn't have to fight Matt, as GM knows he's right, and the more often he repeats it, the less likely it is that some of the newer members will fall victim to "SN Lemming Syndrome"

oh, and its pretty easy to fit. You'll need to find a paint shop to get it sprayed. cost me about £90 for spraying, £160ish for the scoop. Old scoop is fairly easy to remove. I needed to modify a couple of the holes first before fitting the new scoop. Scoop comes with full fitting kit.

Heres some more pics.
