Question defi pod painting

just found out that the defi pods arrive with a gray prima and not colour matched - how have people sorted this / what paint code did you use

Cheers

Rich

I have defi guages (they are great) and my supplier had the pod sprayed in a very nice glossy black (dont know actual code) as a contrast to the mat finnish of STi8 dash. However, the gloss finish is a mistake as I can see the top of the pod reflecting back off the windscreen, so ensure you get it sprayed in a mat colour.

Rich, I've just had a thought, perhaps you could get it flocked. Its not to everyone's taste but it would ensure there would be no glare from the windscreen. I believe its around £120 to do a complete dash so a little pod should be rather inexpensive!

I could get you the number of a 'flocker' if you are interested.

Its the process they use on the WRC cars, the slightly furry finish you may have noticed. I'll try and get a photo.
Its also used on the old fashioned textured wallpaper so is available in many colours.

Rich

I have the pod for a Bugeye and it is dash colour albeit matt but thats good coz it fits in perfectly colour wise. I wouldnt touch it, just put it in.

BTW not sure if its a classic pod in which case but i did see *Sonics* gauge pod last week and that seemed to match the dash

I have pics if you want em.?
