Cool

P1 comes soon. Do I need the Prodrive backbox to beef things up a bit, when I tested the car it had one fitted so I didnt get a chance to hear the STI one.
Did have a Hiper muffler on my present car but a bit too MAX POWER for me now, so If anyone wants it it`s yous for £125.

You gotta get either a scoobysport or prodrive b/b - if only for the sound. My 22B has the STI b/b and it is the most pathetic sounding creature you've ever heard - everyone at powerstation will back me up on this!
As it's a UK car I'm having the dealer check with IM that the prodrive backbox is suitable and warranty won't be affected. However most dealers will fit a scoobysport and still honour any warranty claim. I'm just nervous, and doing it by the book, as the cars so rare.
Cheers,
Chuck

Mines got a SS. Bit louder than the Prodrive unit. Both are much better than the std STI crap.

Hmm, interested in this thread. The sound of the P1 could be better. Is the performance affected; is the warranty affected, etc. etc.

Phil,

I'm having the Pro Drive Back Box fitted on Monday, along with Barrier Lock.

Re warranty, I have been told that it doesn't affect it.

Re performance - not sure?

Will have to wait and see and I will no doubt be speaking to you sometime next week - happy motoring!

Birdy,

The Prodrive backbox is a bit variable on volume, mine as fitted was quiet but with horrible vibration. Had it replaced as defective, new one louder but no *rattle*

Not as deep as SS but harder noise on full throttle. (Is there any other way ?)

Hope it helps

John

Arron,
Considering the insurance probs you better make sure you get a quote with backbox - some insurers will hit you very hard for the modification - they will always consider it performance related.
