article in the times, apparetntly they favour subarus & cossies as their prefered mode of transport!
"The Gooch Close gang, based in Moss Side, have long fought for supremacy with their rivals, the Pitt Bull gang, based in neighbouring Longsight. Last August Justin Maynard, 19, was shot dead after a series of tit-for-tat gang attacks in the area.
Residents complain that the gang members hold sway over the streets, their faces disguised under hoods or balaclavas, protected by Kevlar vests and armed with handguns.
They drive around in untaxed cars or on mountain bikes for a quick getaway. The Gooch are known to patrol their fiefdoms in “pool” cars, typically Subaru Imprezas and Ford Sierra Cosworths. "
