The First Night out in the scoob...
#1
Finally got the scoob out and what a feeling it was...
Makes me look at myself and see how much I have grown up!
Had the famous escort 1.4 GL (cant forget the GL) boy racered up all the way, ( 0-10mph in 12mins), when I was 17 and hit the ayr shore every week admiring some lovely cars but now I am seeing those admires as they hear the sound of the "Bad Boy" coming...
Cant believe how many people look at Scoobs...
Need to remember to brush my hair next time!

Great feeling aint it mate and well deserved. Just wait for the paranoid feeling to take over when somebody follows you home and it aint a couple of max power babes wanting a ride. Take it easy and happy burbling

Cheers sure will mate,
Always reading up on scoobynet for the good advice that gets posted, cant say ive been let down yet...
Am I getting old though when you just cruise through the towns compared to the old days of letting the "cherry bomb" terrorise the streets???

Not so much getting old, but wise mate. Micra's are town cars, Scoobs are for wilder places (which you have many up there in the highlands ) Thrash around a city burbling, popping and whooshing and those people with blue lights (and I don't mean washer jets) will deprive you of money (which is better spent on mods) and maybe your license. Your cars grown up, so should you.
Congrats on achieving Scoobyship. I hope I'm not long behind you.

What you got just now mate?
Was funny as I pulled down on to the strip, a blue evo 6 pulled along in front of me... Nice car but I have always preferred the Scoobs.
My mate has got an Evo 6 and he says its "night and day" to the scoob! Think this is true???

On the Scoob vs Evo question, I can't comment accurately. I've driven both, group N prepared, but on different tracks on different days. The Evo certainly has better turn-in and more aggressive power application. In the real world, the Scoob is my choice.
There's quite a lot of people on here own/owned both, so you'll get a more reliable opinion from them.
As a suggestion, leave the "strip" this weekend and have a trip up north to Applecross and try the Scoob out along the Balach Na Ba. It's where a car like that belongs, not in the city.
2nd thoughts, the weather could spoil that idea this weekend, but save the thought and definately do it. If you have a look through the gallery, some guy had some pics from his recent trip up there a few days ago. Awsome road. Or have a wander down to the Lakes and try the Hardknott/Wrynose Pass'.

Scooby STI v4 (decat ScoobySport zorst)
F A N T A S T I C noise. Poor wet grip (Goodyear F1s), reasonable dry grip, slow steering, decent ride, 18MPG, fast off the line, poor torque, brakes ?? Wot brakes ??. Mine was very reliable, err till the turbo blew up. Cheap servicing.
Misty EVO7 (decat, Blitz SUS, 1.4bar 320HP / 330TORQUE)
Acceptable noise, still crap compared to the Scooby. Very good wet grip (Yoko A046), unreal dry grip, hyper steering, poor ride, 23MPG, harder to launch for guaranteed good start, loadsa mid range, reasonable brakes. Fookin spensive servicing.
My 2p worth

Had a good old chuckle at that 1!!
Just got the scoob last month but its MOT was supposed to run out at the end of the month so i put it in and she passed! Well impressed though had to modify the car by adding a rear fog light to get it through! She now has another 12 months....

LOL @ Scoobiz Will keep eyes peeled and take photos if it happens. Just think you might be lucky and your girl might appreciate them. Have you discussed the possibility of it with her. They say more women fancy other women these days but keep it secret LOL
