Hi Peachy, most people on here favour optimax, but there isn't a shell station around here. My dealer said that normal fuel would be fine, but after I ran her in I went for the super unleaded option and got slightly better economy and I also think I get smoother acceleration, and on standard fuel I felt that the limiter came in far too soon. But thats just my opinion.

If its an import DONT run on normal unleaded. sul or optimax is a must, and octane booster is a good idea. UK turbo should be ok on normal but will run better on the good stuff.

100% agree with above - I have a std 98 turbo and run on optimax when in telford as a shell station just up the road, but when I go back to see the folks in deepest somerset the local petrol station only has std 95 unleaded and the car is less responsive and feels "lumpier" (if that makes any sense!).
Get back here and on the optimax and it's back to usual after a tankfull
I think it helps the mpg on optimax but difficult to say because I don't drive it as hard on the normal unleaded for fear of doing nasties to the engine
