When driving over dropped kerbs (access to driveways, etc.) or when executing a turn from stationary (very low speed, i.e.walking pace) there's a "bumping" sensation felt/heard as if the front tyre has gone over a small stone. Most noticeable on full-lock. Any ideas what the problem could be? Falken tyres worn near to the wear indicators; haven't hit anything recently; can't see anything bent at the front.

Cheers

Depends on mileage, but might well be the front CV drives

Mine does the same - STi8 3000 miles brand spanking new GSD3's.

Also had the same on my Sti7 with bridgestones and also on my My01 WRX with bridgestones(but not when I changed to GSD2s)

What car is it?

I get this on my STI8 when I slowly come off my driveway. I believe it's just the tyres and perhaps the fact that I might need to put some more air into them.

Get this on my 5 Type R too, will jack it up over the weekend to check cv boots etc. Thought it just might be a noisy diff?

STI7. Same for me, thought it was a possible CV joint issue, but agree it might be tyres. Mine are getting well worn and it has only started doing it recently. GSD3's on mine.

Might try Toyo's next... Unless someone can tell me where the secret hide-out is for all the remaining S02's in the world

Cheers

It's a MY97 turbo UK spec. Mileage is low at 55000 and have only recently noticed problem. Perhaps I'll just wait to see if the MOT bod notices anything amiss.

I was just about to start a similar thread...

I get this same knocking when on full lock, and particularly when reversing. It's more than just a noise - the car judders violently. It may be my imagination, but it seems to do it more during cold weather and when the engine is cold.

MY99 with 70K miles and Eagle F1's with plenty of meat on them.
