Wink

dumpling,

I've been worried about the shaking of my MY00 since I bought it!! Asked the dealer on several occasions and I got the 'They all do that, Sir' standard response!!

Sometimes you can physically feel the car shaking from side to side, but I just ignore it these days.

If you are concerned ring the dealer and see what he suggests...

Mark.

Interesting... my Sti8 was doing this a few months back occasionally and I was quite worried. Not happened since though. Standard car on 6000 miles. Any other Sti owners had similar?

Angry

Had this too. (MY99)
Dealer couldn't feel it!!

The nice chaps at Xtreme Scoobies diagnosed a failing O2 sensor and everything was roses.

But now it's back - and all sensors check out OK. So I too am puzzled/ worried.

not that i'm an expert but my m8 had a Porker and occationaly that did it... He asked the Porker dealer and the answer was...

When at a certain revs the engine may get engine as a whole may start to resonate at a frequency left to right. this is due to the internal inertia of the moving parts going left right. At at certain frequency all things will start to resonate. As engine starts to rock on the rubber mounts it is possible for the whole thing to get into the groove as they say and natrualy vibrate, a slight change in the rpm then will disrupt this resonance and it will stop.
Anyhow that was thier explanation and being a techie type of guy I can see where their coming from. I've deffinatly fely my car do it, and it comes and goes just as they described.

I'd try cleaning the Idle control valve to start with. They get dirty very quickly. Only takes ten mins to clean em.

I'm no expert, but because of the design/characteristics of the engine, i think a very slight shake may be normal.

Or at least I hope it is
