Wow - thanks for that. Just blasted out to the closest garage & out of 4 tanks, only 1 is still in use! Hope I didn't get the dregs! They also had no response from Shell to tell them when to expect more!!!

Optimax is cheaper for me without having to spend money on 'extras'!
I'm sure it does work, but why should we bother adding booster when we can have optimax? I'll save that option for when I just can't get the real stuff.

I filled up today in Horsforth near to Leeds, all 8 pumps were on which makes a change as usually the one I pull up to is off.

Had the same problem over xmas and the new year period, only 2 out of the 5 closest Shell garages had Optimax.
Hopefully the problems should be solved now the holiday period is over.

I went to Shell HYTHE (Southampton) this morning and they had run out too.
No local Esso stations so I had to put a fiver's worth of crappy Unleaded in...

Filled up again tonight, only 2 out of 12 Optimax pumps working.
I enquired as to the problem and was told that the a new distribution contractor had recently been appointed and was yet to get on top of things (under-estimated quantities required). They had quite a lot left in the tanks but would be getting another delivery tomorrow. Perhaps its the same accross the country.

Didn't notice any problem at Pease Pottage Services on the M23 a couple of hours ago.
A tankful normally lasts me a week but I'll bear this in mind in case I need to get the Mini back on the road
