Its the disable spaces that rile me, you see every body but the disabled park in them and then when some one disable tries to get in a space there is none there. I saw a 2 little spotty boyracers in them the other day just sitting there talking one in a saxo and one in a new corsa

Mother and baby spaces get my back up every time, are people disabled now they have kids?? my mother managed fine taking 3 of us shopping before these jokes were ever invented, what next, rear parking aids so the mother doesnt reverse into the post holding the sign "disabled parking for mothers and kids" its a joke in this nanny nation of convenience, aaaaaggghhhh!!! I got abused for parking my scoob in a mother and baby space when i was waiting for my sister to come back (yes she had her baby with her), but I admit I have used the spaces when theres plenty available(I wouldnt take the last one)because of the bad lack of respect other drivers give for my doors.
At the end of the day id rather have an arguement about being in the wrong space than a dent in my door, call me selfish but im sick of it and I will park miles away most of the time to avoid the damage.
If I keyed a car it would be criminal damage, if you bang your door on a car it should be the same. I dont bang my doors on others cars, and in a tight space I always put my hand on the corner of the door when I get out to stop me touching the other car with my door.

Cheese...

cheesy puff, there is a down side to getting into an arguement rather than getting a dent, some people get their keys out when you go into the supermarket and you find a nice long scratch along the side of your car when you come out, take my advice and park RIGHT at the back even with kids, come on they all need the excercise!!

Ahhhhh . . . . but the point here is that the average UK parking space is just too bloody small to park in and actually open your doors comfortably - hence all the dents. Why can we just have a few more inches width (oo-er missus??? All it means is one parking space less in a row of ten, no big deal.

Having young kids myself, the parent and baby spaces are superb - if I ever have to fight my 2 year old to get her seatbelt on, you need the wide space to lean in, pin her down, and belt her in before she escapes.

I get abused for using disabled spaces even though I have a disabled badge !!! But of course me being young, drive nice car, cannot possibly be disabled. Even had to argue with a policeman once when I parked on double yellows ! Does annoy me madly when inconsiderates park where they shouldn't, selfish & ignorant. Can't wait to get a Scoob, won't have to worry about parking dings at all.

Have a great one

the reason that supermarkets have the lines painted so close together is maximum trade, if they can get 10 cars into 9 spaces they will, its all about getting the maximum potential from the car parking area regardless of cost to the poor barstewards who get the dents, we should all boycott them untill they re paint their parking lots!!

Using disabled & mother & baby spaces is out of order. However i can sleep well at night when i take up 2 spaces for my scoob. At the end of the day i worked bloody hard to get it and there is buckleys chance i will leave it in a situation when it gets peppered in dents everytime i leave it - sorry!

Before long there'll be 5 specially marked spaces for normal people right at the back of supermarket carparks; the rest will be reserved for the various minority parking groups and yet will still be full of Maxed-up Novas and gypsy-spec Mercs.

Saw a twin-turbo Supra in Lancaster yesterday, parked in a pedestrian zone with a disabled badge on the dash. Curious choice of motor...

f1,

I know how you feel. My wife and I are both 34 and although Lorraine looks healthy she has to take a cocktail of drugs just to get through each day. She is in and out of hospital and last Christmas spent seven weeks in.
She has to have wide access to get in and out of a car and can't walk far.
I would give anything not to need a disabled badge

All those that use Disabled spaces should pray they never actually need one for real.

< flame suit on>
Trouble is half the people with disabled badges only have a slight cough and a bit of a limp.
Like the to55er that lives next door to me.
If he warrents a disabled badge then i will stand the drop of york.
Thats what makes me angry, people who take the system for a ride.

ive always been againts taking baby and mothers and the disabled spaces up

but the taking 2 car park spaces thing, i have been doing this recently for the 1st time in my driving life

ive had the scooby "nudged" ****en twice scince i bought it and im normaly, excesivly paranoid about where its parked (not near 4x4`s or scrappy old bangers etc etc)

what pissed me off sooo much was when i payed to have the rear of the car resprayed and then i find a big ******* "smudge" down the rear bumper

i spent about 30 mins in a underground car park with a bottle of polish buffing the thing out

scince then ive been to a supermarket and a local retail park
both times ive driven right to the other side of the car park and found loads of cars parked up all taking up 2 spaces @ once so i didnt feel half as guilty

@ work i park on the end of a row with the car sticking out of the bay a touch, or in the middle rom which is all diagnol parking along the road anyways

baby and mother = bad
disabled = bad
2 spaces @ once = bad but sumtimes the only sensible thing todo

try the "i parked it in a hurry and never relised i was taking 2 spaces trick" slight diagnol with car on full lock and with the tail hanging out ever so slightly
lmfao

tmo,

With everything in life there are people who take the system for a ride. Things have tightened up considerably the last couple of years so hopefully more of the scammers will be removed from the scheme.

However, the Orange/Blue badge scheme is a god send to those that actually need it.

Cheers

i've seen cars parked in 2 spaces before and on many occassions these cars have had been seriously keyed all over since there were no other spaces for other drivers. so I wouldn't personally do it!

If I saw a car taking up 2 spaces,I'd park my rusty, sheddy clapped out Escort shopping car in the half space next to the drivers side to make it awkward for them to get back in-they're making it more awkward for me to find a space,so fair's fair.
There isn't a two tier parking sytem in operation so why should a nice car get preference over a minging one?I usually find parking easily enough at the back/entrance of car parks.I'd rather walk for a bit than ar** about looking for the space by the door and it's easier to get back out again.

Curious for what reason? I know several people who have had accidents and maybe broken their backs or necks and drive high-performance vehicles, the likes of TVR'S, Porsche 996'S, AMG Mercs,Impreza's etc.

I also seem to remember the guy in a wheelchair on Top Gear drove a Supra.

Remember, these guy's walked before their accidents and it's only their legs and maybe arms that don't work properly, not their minds.

A lot of them are also ex-competition drivers/riders and you won't take the need for speed out of them.

WRT to PARENT and baby spaces. It gets on my fûcking **** when some oik, or more often than not some middle aged woman in big merc parks in them.

WHY?

Because if I go to the shops with my 2 toddlers I need to open the doors on both sides to get them out of their high sided and very safe car seats.

I DO NOT need to be close to the shops, I just need to get the kids out of the car without some whinging fûckwit in an shiney new impreza getting in my god damned fûcking way and scratching the paint on the edge of my doors.

so how did we all manage before these brilliant edge of door saving spaces were invented then? do you not realise these were a gimmick invented by a greedy supermarket aiming their marketing at mothers with kids by saying "hey come and shop here we have child friendly parking" next they will have some spotty geek helping mum pack the shopping , oooops!! sorry they already do that. I must think of a landmark idea to get rich on, maybe supermarkets should charge money for extra wide spaces then these moaning drivers in their shiney new imprezas would have nothing to moan about, or even................get someone to pack the KIDS into the car!!! hooray!! im rich!!!
