ok someone told me, i think it was grade a subaru that there is a difference between a jdm front wing and a type uk front wing on the my03 sti8, now looking at them, i really cant see any difference, does anyone know ??? they said the indicator is in a different place, but it doesnt look to be, dont see the shape being different?

also does the sti type uk have folding mirrors? or just normal ones?

ok from what i found out, the sti uk doesnt have the folding ones, can someone confirm this? also where do i get one? drivin me nuts this!

 

jason, i've not seen the uk spec (i've got the jdm STI8 too) but have heard sarcastic remarks from UK spec owners that they don't need folding mirrors and etc and etc so i guess it could be true.

jason, i think it will be a good idea to list the places you've already tried so you can get alternative suggestions.

question, do you want to install the folding mirrors or you want to replace one that is damaged? (the folding switch is located next to the side mirror direction keypad). I could ask my dealer in Hong Kong if you'd like...let me know!

 

UK STi8 (MY03) has 'normal' mirrors - they don't fold (electrically anyway ).

Or ar least, if they do the switch is very well hidden on mine and/or broken from new.

They actually do have folding mirrors which operate every time the automatic intercooler spray kicks in.

ok i tried everywhere in the auto trader, grade a subaru, david hendry, graham goode (who never get back to me)3x now, gibsons of brock( who told me to try graham goode) + many more places I cant think of right now.

What about the wing? is there any difference between jdm and uk sti? i am sure its the same??

as for the mirror, the one i have is slightly damaged, im not sure if its repairable so i wanted a quote for a new one

i have a sti8 "type uk" and have electric mirrors that fold manualy.

Elec folding mirrors were not an option when i bought.

Jason ring Roger Clark Motorsport, they, at least will ring you back and can get you all the parts you need. I don't think there is any difference in the wing but Simon at RCM can check for you.

thanks bob, graham goode did eventually get me the info i needed 180quid for a wing +vat and 248+vat for a mirror!!! so ill get a uk wing, and order the mirror i guess, ill give rc a ring tomorrow to check if they can get me the mirror cheaper
