Question

This question is just for interest you understand, as I don't really want to bugger up my clutch....but....only had my car a few weeks (STI8 PPP) and struggling to get a clean quick launch without bogging down - what's the best technique guys? Is there a good way of launching quickly without doing too much damage?

Cheers

Gubbins, I notice your relatively new so first of all welcome, just to warn you you will get a lot of people posting sarcastic remarks cos this question has been asked many times before, if you use the search steam engine at the top it should pick up the previous threads. The way I do it is take the clutch up till its just on the bite and dragging a bit then blip the throttle quite hard and this will build the boost up then let it all the way up, because your not dumping it it is not as brutal on the clutch,

like you said you've only had the car a few weeks so good launches will come with you getting to know your new car.

don't worry you'll get the hang of it but you'll need to run your engine in first before taking it up to those higher rpms!

remember don't dump the clutch...

enjoy
