Rear Heated Screen
#1
Has enybody else found that the rear screen on a MY03 WRX takes forever to clear after switching on.I drove the 16 miles home this morning after a nightshift and it was only just starting to clear as i pulled on to the drive.
Is this the norm or Is It a trip back to the dealer?
Cheers In advance folks.

Paul,
Coincidentally, I started wondering about the rear heated window on my 2 week old WRX this morning. It seemed to clear faster after I'd turned the heating element off. Furthermore, it cleared away from the heating elements, making me suspicious that it was on when switched off and vice versa.
However, I am used to driving a car with a rear wiper and this morning's water I believe was on the outside of the screen rather than the inside. If this was the case also on yours (assuming you have a 4 door), then perhaps expectations of the rear heated windscreen clearing water from the outside of the car may have been unrealistic?
Let me know how you get on.
I'm going to leave mine switched off on the way home and see how quickly it clears.

Yeah, they have them on the rear side windows of the wagon (not the rear door windows, the ones behind on the added wagon bit).
My rear heater is fine for clearing ice and condensation, but I would have to agree that not having a rear window wiper is a real pain... so I just put my foot down and the water pours off!!
