How sad am I?
Travelling up the motorway saw the inevitable gritter in the distance. Not wanting to get the 8 week old beast peppered by the damned thing I drove for 3 miles at 35mph a good distance behind it (virtually no other traffic on the motorway before you start complaining ).
Next junction I left the motorway, drove swiftly along the winding A roads and rejoined some 3 miles up the motorway just in front of the gritter - result
Then I started worrying as to whether the road might be icy
How sad is that?
tiggers.

You lucky man I was gritted twice on the motorway coming back from the dealership having just picked up my shiny new STi8.
My intercooler is a bit bent and still has some grit in it despite my best efforts with the vac and the tweezers

I always seem to get stuck behind them, so I just get past as quick as possible, lol.
My mate was infront of me so he took the worst of it all over his freshly resprayed Escort Cosworth!
Nightmare this time of year!

Its bad when you pass them in the opposite direction and realise its too late to do anything before your covered.

Can you claim compensation off the council for stonechips? There is no need to blast grit everywhere, why don't they just use finer salt granules or modernde-icer sprays as used on runways?
