Question

am i ok to take my my00 STi6 Type R to my local dealer, they will be happy to service it, although dont deal with JDM STi's and their parts. said they will use normal uk turbo my00 parts or p1 parts.

was lookin on a STi parts site the other day and noticed a lot of the parts used in servicing are STi geniune bits, such as the STi plugs, the STi filter, stronger STi timing belt etc. etc.

???

Well the 22B UK uses all standard parts. I know for a fact that the STI panel filter is an option, not standard, so you don't have to worry about that. Basically I'd say just go ahead and let them use standard bits.

might just get the STi timing belt then, should think it would have to be stronger then the standard ones for a type R?

Those are all sports upgrade parts and are not used in std servicing, the STi engines and Eurospec engines use all the same parts except pistons, valve gear and cams. All parts used in the normal service are the same. Some gaskets are steel laminated such as exhaust manifold to heads though. Cam belt is identical.

Never use aftermarket parts on an Impreza in particular the oil filter.
