Scoob is up for sale in the Auto Trader and the above company keep calling telling us that they have buyers for the car, and that with only a £72 registration fee, they will put us in contact with buyers. When sold, we get £60 of the registration fee back!

Anyone heard of this/done it? We are just a bit dubious!

Not heard of them - but sounds very similar to a number of cons going on out there - so beware!

Do a search on here as well, think I have seen a simlar thread. As I recall somebody refused to pay up front but offered them 2x what they were asking for if they got a sale and they didn't want to play!

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!

It's a scam Do a search and you will find that of all the people who have signed up none have received a phone call. You will also notice that even if you put
no canvessers
on your advert they will still call and in my case I put
NO CARDATA MUPPETS
and they still called

Steer well clear. Would you buy a car through them? No??? Welll why sell it through them???

Put my car on Autotrader a few weeks back. Cardata kept ringing up saying they had 12 interested parties.

I said that is more or less the same as you said to me back in 1998 when I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Needless to say I heard jack$hit from them once they had got my money. He then asked if I wanted to speak to their customer service department FFS! I declined just wanted rid of the useless to$$ers.

Successful agencies in whatever they are selling only require payment upon them selling whatever they were supposed to be selling, not up front.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY UP FRONT.

Damian.

Many thanks for all of your replies. Won't be handing over any money to them what-so-ever!

Thanks again

Just hang up on them. They are very agressive to try and get a sale I had to keep repeating myself saying "not interested" when the stupid woman carried on trying to get me to sign up. The daft cow's answer was "aren't you interested in selling your car" Yes I replied but not with you and I hung up. P!ssed me off for hours after that with her attitude.

I got bothered by these people too, just told them I had sold the car. Wonder if anyone has ever been successful with them - if not, maybe we should all write to Watchdog to frame the ar**holes!

Don't hang up or tell them to F.Off. Just say yes I'm very interested but have someone with me at the minute if you can just hold on a sec. Then go have a cup of tea etc. I got them waiting for 14 mins before they hung up. Funnily enough they did'nt call back

I love it. Thinking of new things to say to them.

At the moment I simply say no. When they ask why, I ask how they got my number, they always reply from the xxxxxx, my point is simple why would I want to advertise when my car is already being advertised. And working too after all they saw it!!!

Have you had the old, we wnat to give you a free magazine. I just naming mags and they said I couldn't choose I laughed and hung up.
