MY03 Interior Light Quickie

Picked up my new MY03 WRX last week. Counting down the days until its 1k service next week.
When I unlock the car, the interior light comes on. So far so good. On other cars I've had, the interior light also comes on when switching off the ignition. It doesn't on my Scoob.
Any other WRX MY03 owners tell me whether this is right, or something I need to get looked at?

My MY03 does not have an interior light when you open the door, it just has the green illuminated ignition barrell.
It does have Map lights, though if you turn these on, they stay on even with the ignition off.

The only switch is for the map light. It is not a sliding switch, it is just a push button (on/off)... if you leave it on, it is on constantly! .........I am not a complete muppet!

Jolley - I believe that DSmith was referring to the interior light that comes on when you open the doors as long as the switch in the roof is in the correct position. You may want to check yours.

OK, I AM a muppet!! Can I make my excuses now?...
I have only ever had 3 door hothatches before, where evrything is up front by the rearview mirror. I suppose all "proper" cars have that second light lurking above your head! ... I guess that is a welcome to the world of grown-up cars!!
