Has any one any expieriance of buying stuff privately on the "for sale section" of scoobynet. i.e if someone lives at the other end of the country have you got any tips on how not to get ripped off, i don't fancy sending a cheque and just "hoping the part arrives.
Thanks for any help in advance

Iv'e bought stuff and on most of the ocassions collected it as luckily the sellar was within a 1 hour drive of me.But when i bought from further away i did just send off a cheque and the stuff came back within a day or so before my cheque had cleared. Most people are honest otherwise the for sale forum wouldn't work but i do check peoples post count i would think twice about sending a cheque off to someone who had only ever posted the one time.

I have also bought and sold some bits from here I sent out and recieved goods before cheque's had cleared I might be a bit cautious with someone with one Post or if it was £10,000 but most peeps on here are generaly honest most would hate to be slated of for being bent

Mart X,
You are wise to be cautious. I tried to buy an item off the "For Sale" section recently. The seller would not answer legitimate questions on the goods because he thought they were beneath him. Pratt!
I took my business elswhere. Sadly you have very little legal protection if it all goes **** up which is why I don't bother anymore.
